Improving its discoverability and management efficiency

Challenge

Users had difficulty finding scheduled payments and didn't have an efficient tool to manage them.

Ideation

I evaluated the possible problems and did the competitive analysis to define the main issues.

I rapidly conducted a "quick and dirty" interview to uncover users' mental models and proposed three plans accordingly.

Plan A

Separating scheduled payment from instant payment by a tab.

After the back-and-forth discussion, we decided to go for plan A and integrate with plan B's overview information. Considering that scheduled payment is less frequently used,  we wanted to keep the instant payment page simple. Furthermore, we refined the UX writing and added "copy history payment" option to reduce users' input effort.

Test

We recruited 5 users for the usability test and I was in charge of the prototype, co-interviews, and definition of usability issues. All of them can complete the task of creating and deleting scheduled payments. However, some users were confused by the overview information and suggested that they cared about "upcoming payments" and "transfer date" the most. Accordingly, we simplified the overview information and emphasized more on the transfer date and the remaining payments.
